I have five brothers, but I bet they would say I was a second mother. While growing up they were my very own security team. Well, one of my protectors… went back to Iraq this month. My Brother Timothy(E-8)returned to Iraq for another tour…so keep him in your prayers. As you might expect emotions have been all over the charts. We love him, and can’t wait for these 18months to be over….

In a few days this semester will come to a close and I will be one class closer to my graduate degree. My current course Financial Decision Making will end but the financial lessons learned are seared into my mind for all times. The case studies combined with assuming a mock CFO role have confirmed that my pursuit of an MBA was indeed well thought out. I feel refreshed by the timeliness of the course materials….and inspired to add my energies to enhance corporate governance especially in terms of ethics and risk management.

We turned to real world examples…to build the financial resolve, the mental agility needed on the training grounds where future CFO’s are cast. The emerging MBA will no doubt face unprecedented challenges (courtesy of continued innovation & global realities)…so I am content to sharpen my financial skill-sets, even into the wee morning hours.

I knew this would not be childs play-I admit, I have moments when stress & sleep are at odds…but… I trust that all my hard work will pay off, pay me dividends even….My eyes are remain fixed on graduating with honors later this year. Universe don’t fail me now! I need a B or better…..Prayer will see me through….

-Naturally.

Spring 07-Financial Decision Making

2007 January 20
by Staff

Life happened…again, and yet another family member passed away (during last semester.) As I inch back toward normalcy, I focus on finding my academic rhythm, hoping to maintain a 3.5 or better. By the close of this semester, I pray, that I will be back at a 3.7 or 3.8.

I have turned my attention to the current semeseter- Financial Decision Making. WHEW! Intermediate Financial Management with a kick!

Yet, I am encouraged by my drive to stay current with reading materials and financial analysis.

If I keep this up, I will be rewarded with an A & keen financial insight!

Fall Session I-Issues in International Business

Last semester came and went… And I am happy to report that I received a B+ for all my hard work!

I went through a rough few weeks where technology was not on my side. By the time it all came to a close, it was 2 weeks away from turning my attentions to a new semester!

I am now in Week 3 of a new semester…and you guessed it,” life happened”- I was dealt another blow with a recent death in the family.

I prefer to look at it like this… all these peaks and valleys make me better prepared to manage my professional life, with an MBA in hand.

My goal is no different this semester- get an A…

we shall see…

I want to push that 3.7 higher!

Today, is the first day of my next MBA course, which I will refer to as Business Ethics & Law. We will be using case analysis to discern the ethical & legal environment of Businesses. I enjoyed my undergraduate course in Business Ethics, and will certainly gain a deeper understanding from this course.

Summer Session I-The Economics of Management Course- Regis University MBA

I am certain that this course has broadened my professional horizons. I was so taken by the course materials that I did not pause to jot down my daily travails- however, I am evolving into a MBA…and the Economics of Management course has been instrumental for me professionally. It’s a rather profound process to behold. I am very much suited for this type of educational stimuli- and this is, a joy to note!

Currently, my cumulative average is a 3.5/4.0…while my cumulative average for my MBA is a 4.0. I gave this semester my all, just as I always do. So, I trust that upon receiving my grade from this course my cumulative average for my major will remain a 4.0. Excellence is one of my educational imperatives.
